Title IX (Discrimination & Harassment)

It is the school district's policy that no person shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subject to discrimination under any of the school district’s programs or activities.  The district is required by Title IX (20 U.S.C. § 1681) and 34 C.F.R. part 106 to not discriminate in such a manner. Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (“Title IX”) prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex in any federally funded education program or activity. As a recipient of federal funding, the Canistota School District does not discriminate on the basis of sex in any of its education programs or activities.  Title IX’s protections extend to admissions and employment. Any inquiries regarding Title IX’s protections can be referred to the Title IX coordinator.
