The 1st Annual Canistota Gauntlet Games = SUCCESS! 💪🔥
The Canistota Athletic Enhancement Program wrapped up with a bang as athletes teamed up for the inaugural Gauntlet Games! 💥
From flipping 250lb tires and hauling 5-gallon water jugs, to crushing med ball heaves and tackling an 800-meter team relay—these athletes showed off serious strength, speed, stamina, and GRIT! 💥💦
Even a little rain couldn’t dampen their energy or competitive spirit. 🌧️🔥
A huge thank you to The Total Stop for supporting our event and donating gift card prizes! 🙌👏
We were missing five athletes due to prior commitments, but their teammates brought the heat for all of them!
We can’t wait to make this a Canistota tradition! 🧡🖤

“The pain you feel today is the strength you feel tomorrow.” Congratulations to this week’s Iron Hawk Award winners, Sam Schroeder, Joshua Koenig, and Emma Sandman. Each workout, they pushed themselves and others to new levels of strength, speed, and mental toughness.

The quote of the week this week was “If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.” And this week’s Iron Hawk Award winners choose to challenge themselves in every workout without complaint or quit, just focused determination and grit! Congratulations, Colin Cogswell and Katelyn Tieszen on showing up and putting in the work!

Hawk Fans,
A friendly reminder that June 30-July 7, 2025, the Canistota School District gyms (Main, The Barn, and multiple purpose) will be shut down starting at 9 AM on June 30th for gym preparation to apply a new coat of wax. Gyms will be off limit to school district and non school district personnel until July 8, 2025.
The SDHSAA Moratorium will begin on July 1st and end at midnight on July 7th. During this time, no school sponsored or affiliated activity may take place. This restriction on activities includes any team contact, individual contact, private lessons, open gym, or other situation wherein coaches will interact with student-athletes in an activity wherein coaching, guidance, or supervision is provided. We will resume open gym sessions on July 8, 2025, at 6:30 AM.
Have a great week and safe 4th of July holiday.
Mr. Campbell

Hawk Fans!
Congratulations to the students, coaches, advisors, and teachers on earning the SDHSAA Academic Achievement Team Award. Below are the athletic and fine art programs that earned the award.
The SDHSAA Academic Achievement Team Award program began during the 1996-1997 school year and is designed to recognize varsity athletic teams and fine arts groups for their academic excellence. To earn the award a team must have above a 3.0 GPA.

Congrats to Ellie Becker and Ryder Hutcheson, this week’s Canistota Athletic Enhancement Iron Hawk Award winners! It’s their NO QUIT, ALL GRIT work ethic, intrinsic motivation, and encouragement of others! They push themselves and others each day.
"Making athletes better, faster, and stronger every day." These workouts are tough, and it requires mental toughness and discipline each day to roll out of bed early on a summer morning and put in the work! Props to all our Athletic Enhancement participants!

Congrats to Miles Heinzmann and Haley McGregor for earning the first Canistota Athletic Enhancement Program "Iron Hawk" Award. Miles and Haley earned the award for their "NO QUIT, All GRIT work ethic, intrinsic motivation, and encouragement of others!"

Wishing the best of luck to our student-athletes as they head to the State Track Meet!
📣 Let’s give them a champion’s send-off!
Line Main Street and show your support as they leave town tomorrow, May 29th at 10:45 a.m. 💛🖤
Let’s go Hawks!! 🔥

Construction Ag Class Chicken Coop Project Surplused and Up for Auction
This year’s Construction Ag class successfully designed and built a chicken coop as part of their hands-on learning experience. At the May 12, 2025 school board meeting, the board officially declared the chicken coop as surplus property.
The coop will be sold at the upcoming Wieman Land & Auction Consignment Auction on June 10, 2025, and is listed as Lot #: 4346.
We’re proud of the hard work and craftsmanship our students put into this project, and we look forward to seeing it find a new home!
