Today, junior and senior students had the opportunity to meet and engage in meaningful discussions with Dusty Johnson.

February 15th through the 22nd is National FFA Week!
The National FFA Organization is considered to being the oldest Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO), beginning its legacy in 1928. The organization was originally called the Future Farmers of America. The organization was started with a group of farmers who met in a meeting room in Kansas City, Missouri as a way to help prepare young leaders for a career in Agriculture. In 1988 the name was changed to the National FFA Organization as a way to not only recognize those involved in production Agriculture, but every career that has a connection with Ag. I'm proud to say that today there are over 1,027,200 members and FFA continues to find ways to inspire students and acts on the mission statement "To make a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premiere leadership, personal growth, and career success through Agricultural Education."

Canistota School District will have an early release at 1:30 PM today 2.10.25. Bus routes will run there normal routes and leave the school at 1:35 PM.
All extra-curricular activities scheduled for tonight 2.10.25 are CANCELLED.

On Monday, January 27th the One-Act cast and crew took on regions in Madison. Congratulations on an exceptional performance! The following thespians received acting awards: Brenen Brandenburg, Lily Montgomery, Alina Bertelson, Lola Conn, Amelia Remacle, and Abigail Keller.

Pursuant to the provisions of SDCL 13-7-5 and 5.02:04:14, notice is hereby given that the following school board positions will become vacant due to the expiration of the present terms of office of the following school board members:
One (3) year term for a school board member residing anywhere within the school district to fill the position presently held by John Remacle.
One (3) year term for a school board member residing anywhere within the school district to fill the position presently held by Angie Scott.
One (3) year term for a school board member residing anywhere within the school district to fill the position presently held by Cory Spicer.
Circulation of nominating petitions may begin on January 31, 2025 and petitions may be filed in the office of the business manager located at the Canistota Public School between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. central time not later than February 28, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. central time.

The kids enjoyed looking for Dasher in the lunch room these last few days! Dasher and Grinch enjoyed pranking each other, but got along for the most part. They will be back next year! We hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!
